Sailing and
Diving with Ocean Free to the Great Barrier Reef

Your day
starts with the Dreamtime Travel bus transfering you to Ocean Free boat at 8.00 am ( not too early ! - you are on holiday
after all!) . You will be met on the wharf by one of the
Ocean Free
crew ( easily noticed - just look for the big white “ Q”
and the dolphin) . From
$109
plus reef tax you will sail to Green Island for a great
day on the Great Barrier Reef.

After
leaving the dock you can assist the Ocean Free crew with the hoisting of the
sails and after an introductory /safety and dive brief -
you can just kick back and enjoy the trip to the reef.

For those of you wishing to dive with Ocean Free the paperwork and
briefs are done on the journey out there so by the time
we arrive at Pinnacle Reef you are ready to dive!

Once
Ocean Free
sails are dropped we meander through the reef to our private
mooring at
Pinnacle reef
with Green
Island just a
km off the mooring - all you’ve ever dreamed of in a
tropical paradise is right in front of you.
On Ocean Free mooring we are met by
“Oscar” and his mates - the schools of spangled emperors/
yellow tailed fuseliers/ spanish mackerel / batfish to name
just a few.
Green Island
and Pinnacle reef are highly protected areas with no fishing
allowed
Therefore the fish life is extremely abundant and quite
amazing.
Once briefed on the water activities - your adventures
begin!!

Following the morning's snorkelling and diving you feast
on a luscious smorgasbord lunch after which transfers
from Ocean Free to
the island begin - look out for turtles on the way!

You can then:
- spend the rest
of the time on the island
- spend an hour
on the island and return to the boat to do more
snorkelling and /or diving from the boat.
- remain on the
boat ---
The choice is
yours!

On the island:
- wander along
the beautiful white beach
- walk across or
around the island, view the bird life and vegetation.
- visit
Marineland Melanesia
- grab an
ice-cream or cocktail and just laze on the tropical
beach

After over 4 hours on the reef and island we sail home
- cutting through the blue waters with no engine noise -
a perfect finale to a day of sun, reef life and tropical
beach with Ocean Free. |
We
arrive back in Cairns between 05.30 - 06.00 pm,
the view of the sun setting in the hills is spectacular -
quite a sight for your return journey! Also the perfect time
for you to sit back in one of the bars at The Pier and have
a drink (probably with some new found friends) and reminisce
on your day with Ocean Free.
